We’re not your typical nonprofit, so we get a lot of great questions. These are the most common.
Why start All Good Studio instead of a traditional nonprofit?
The answer is simple: sheer need. If we started a traditional nonprofit, we would spend months, possibly years, developing and vetting partnerships with no guarantee of success. Why wait when there are so many organizations already doing good work with needs we can meet right now? Of the 1.5 million nonprofits in the U.S., 30% are estimated to fail in the first 10 years. The world doesn’t need more nonprofits. It needs BETTER nonprofits.
Plus, like you, we are passionate about so many causes! This way, we can seek justice on behalf of them all.
What types of organizations does All Good Studio help?
We help small nonprofits already doing good work, seeking justice here or overseas, who lack the budget and staff necessary to reach more people in need.
And there are a lot of them! Statistics show that 21% of all nonprofits operate on an annual budget of less than $50,000 a year. Another 18% have an annual budget between $50,000 and $100,000 (Zipsprout 2016), and 66% of nonprofits are considered grassroots organizations with an annual budget of less than $1M (Guidestar 2017).
We are a Christian-run organization, but the nonprofits we help do not have to be explicitly faith-based (e.g. The Boys & Girls Club of America). Their mission just has to align with our Christian values.
In what specific ways does All Good Studio help?
We help nonprofits communicate their mission well—to a wider audience. This means providing an array of services: from graphic design to writing, web development, social media strategy, fundraising and event planning, photography, videography, donor relations, and more. Much of our time is spent consulting: looking at organizations’ current communications efforts and processes and finding ways to improve them.
How does All Good Studio narrow down the organizations who apply for help?
Every organization seeking help from All Good Studio must fill out an application. This helps us figure out what they do, who they serve, and the heart behind their mission. We then take a look at their annual budget to determine whether they need free services. If so, we get rolling!
How does All Good Studio determine how much work to do for each organization?
Our approach varies depending on the organization. Some are small nonprofits. They have been around for years and need help jumping into the digital world. Others are start-ups who need a complete package of services to get going. In cases where the scope of work is large, we look to our Board of Directors, and, in some cases, our supporters to help us through the selection process.
Why does All Good Studio offer its services for free?
We offer free services because the nonprofits we are helping would not receive them otherwise. They simply don’t have the budgets to pay.
Does All Good Studio give money to these organizations?
No, All Good Studio provides communications services for free or at minimal cost, but we do not offer financial assistance of any kind.
Why do All Good Studio staff members raise support for their salary?
For All Good Studio to live out its mission, each of our team members must raise personal monthly support. If we paid salaries, we would have to bring in so much for-profit work that we would not have time to help the people who need us most. It also would be extremely difficult to grow our team. And most importantly, nothing would distinguish us from every other marketing/design agency out there when we are called to be different.
Will All Good Studio tell its supporters which organizations are being helped and how?
Yes! We want our supporters and friends to be up-to-date on everything that goes on at All Good Studio. In fact, we hope you will have a say in the process! After all, our work is only made possible by you. If you are not on our newsletter list and would like to be, enter your email at the bottom of this page.
How can I get on the list to receive All Good Studio’s services?
Fill out this application to get started. This will help us get to know you and your mission.
